NEW DELHI - The All India Minority Front (AIMF), which is going to fight 100 seats in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, has welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision to stay telecast of remaining ‘UPSC Jihad’ episodes on Sudarshan TV.
Accusing the channel of targeting a particular community, AIMF chief SM Asif said that the show starts with ISIS face shots and added that this is nothing but hate speech and communalizing something, which is not communal.
“The show basically means all Muslims coming to the UPSC are Jihadis. This is incorrect. This may be done under the guise of investigative journalism, Asif said.
“The Delhi High Court had earlier issued a notice after hearing the plea challenging the go-ahead given by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry,” he noted.
Mr Asif has demanded registration of a criminal case against Sudarshan News channel’s editor-in-chief Suresh Chavhanke and his immediate arrest on charges of promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion and indulging into acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony, national integration and deliberately maligning the defaming the image of the Jamia Millia Islamia university.
